Professional Torsion Spring Repair

Broken Torsion Spring

Torsion springs are large powerful coils that allow a heavy garage door to be opened and closed with ease. Without springs a garage door would be useless. Torsion springs do eventually break when the metal becomes fatigued after years of regular use. Torsion springs wind up as a garage door closes and unwinds as it opens which represents one life cycle. The average garage door spring is engineered to open and close a garage door 10,000 times before the spring fatigues and breaks. A 10,000 life cycle spring will usually last 10-15 years under average use. When a torsion spring does break, it is best not to use the garage door until the spring is replaced by a professional. Operating a garage door with broken springs will likely damage the door or opener, requiring additional repairs. At CSS Garage Doors we offer after hour garage door service for Canton, Jasper, Woodstock, Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta, Roswell, Alpharetta, and Cumming. Broken torsion springs will often leave your car stuck in the garage which can create an emergency. Call us today for fast response time and professional service.

Torsion spring replacement is dangerous and should only be attempted by a trained professional!

Professional Extension Spring Replacement

Broken Extension Spring

Extension springs are often used with a single car garage door set up. Extension springs are attached to the back hangs at the end of the tracks and stretch across the top of the tracks as the door closes. Extension springs are made to stretch and retract as a garage door closes and opens. Like torsion springs, extension springs will break every 10-15 years with average use. When extension springs break it is best to replace the pulleys and cables with the springs. All extension springs should be installed with safety cables which are strung right through the center of the spring and hold the spring in place when it breaks. Garage door springs are dangerous to work on, and can cause serious injuries. If you have broken garage door springs, give us a call and let the professionals handle it.

TorqueMaster Springs Replacement

TorqueMaster Spring

Many garage doors in the Atlanta area were installed with a TorqueMaster spring system. TouqueMaster springs are mounted on the inside of a long skinny tube and are not visible from the outside. One problem with this spring system is that broken springs often go unnoticed causing more damage when the garage door is operated. At CSS Garage Doors we do not use the TorqueMaster spring system because it is inferior to the more standardized torsion and extension spring systems. When repairing broken TorqueMaster springs, we replace the TorqueMaster system with the torsion or extension springs. If you have broken TorqueMaster garage door springs, give us a call. We replace garage door springs in Canton, Jasper, Woodstock, Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta, Roswell, Alpharetta, and Cumming.
